Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, believes that Europe is in a pre-war epoch and that there is a need to morally adjust to the fact that "literally any scenario is possible."

He made this statement in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza.

Tusk stated, "We are living in the most critical moment" since the end of World War II, and everything "will be decided in the next two years."

"I don't want to scare anyone, but war is no longer a thing of the past. It is real, it actually began more than two years ago. What is most disturbing now is that literally any scenario is possible," he said, responding to a question about whether he believes "war is inevitable."

"I know this sounds ruthless, especially for younger people, but morally we need to get used to the arrival of a new era. The pre-war era. I am not exaggerating," added the Prime Minister of Poland.

Tusk also recalled a conversation with his Spanish colleague, Pedro Sanchez, who allegedly insisted during a European Council meeting on discontinuing the use of the word "war" in EU official statements because it allegedly scares Europeans.

"I replied that in my part of Europe, war is no longer an abstraction, and that our duty is not to discuss, but to act and prepare for defense," Tusk said.

He added that, in his opinion, Europe's main task should be to protect Ukraine from Russian aggression and to preserve Ukraine as an independent and sovereign state.

Tusk said that today the situation in Ukraine is "much more difficult than a year ago, but also much better than at the beginning of the war."

Tusk has previously called on political allies in Europe to recognize the new reality in which a large-scale war is again possible and to think and act accordingly.

He emphasized that "for some of our brothers, this is not a 'pre-war' epoch anymore, but a full-scale war in its most brutal form."
