To Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister, Republic of Armenia

Prime Minister Pashinyan:
We, the undersigned, firmly believe in the trinity of the national power Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora; and consider the three together as the nation of Armenia.
Over the past two years and eight months, our nation has lost a generation in the war, 72% of the territory of Artsakh (more than half without any military resistance) and approximately 140 square kilometers of sovereign Armenia, of which at least 40 were again lost without resistance, the death of hundreds of soldiers during Azerbaijani aggression in September 2022, an unknown number of illegally held prisoners of war in Baku and the current genocidal blockade of what is left of Artsakh.
Mr. Pashinyan, your election program, as well as your governmentโs plan, approved by the National Assembly after your re-election in June 2021, doubly committed Armenia to defend Artsakhโs right to self-determination (and the return of Hadrut and Shushi). This fundamental right, guaranteed by international law, is the path to the preservation of Artsakh by Armenians and the key to curbing the genocidal aspirations of Azerbaijan and Turkey. However, both publicly and in your peace treaty negotiations, you abandoned Armenia’s years-long quest for Artsakh’s right to self-determination, and instead announced your decision to completely surrender Artsakh, along with several other Armenian territories to Azerbaijan.
These two points alone, not to mention the rapid degradation of democracy in Armenia under your control, the neglected state of our soldiers even in the most vulnerable positions facing the enemy is enough for us to demand your immediate resignation from the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
You have granted yourself and your government much broader rights and powers than those granted to the Prime Minister by the current Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. The consequences of your actions have an adverse impact not only on Armenia and Artsakh, but on the entire Armenian people. Therefore, we give ourselves the right to put forward a demand for your immediate resignation.
At the same time, we refrain from proposing a replacement as we respect the political processes provided for by the Constitution and the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia regarding the resignation of the prime minister, which do not give the resigning prime minister the opportunity to retain the powers of the office after resigning – an unacceptable course of action you took before your re-election in 2021.
Mr. Pashinyan, we, as active participants in the work of nation-building, call for your immediate resignation from the posts and powers of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia – as the only remaining means of preventing the pan-Armenian disaster that threatens our people.
