Matt Groening

by Sebastian from Tampico

Hero... one of the words I hear the most in my life. Many people say they are people who save lives and are recognized worldwide. For me, a hero is someone or somebody that wants everybody's good and is admired. The hero I will describe will be Matt Groening, the famous creator and executive producer of The Simpsons. I will show my description of a hero.

Matthew Abram Groening, better known as Matt Groening, was born on February 15, 1954 in Portland, Oregon. As many people when they were kids, Groening didn't like school and preferred to draw and because of that he was considered a distracted and a bad student. When he grew up his hobby was drawing. In 1977, he moved to Los Angeles to become a writer. His first comic book was entitled Life in Hell and it made its official debut as a comic book in the 1980's and it became very popular after its debut. In 1985 Groening was hired by the FOX channel to work on an animation project which would turn out to be a developing a series of short animated skits for the FOX's channel program The Tracey Ullman Show. After some years working on FOX, Groening created an animated show known as The Simpsons, which became a great impact and became very popular in a few years. One of Matt Groening's best actions was creating The Simpsons, because it stills broadcasts, it has over 19 seasons and is very famous.

I consider Matt Groening a hero for changing television forever when he created The Simpsons. My reason may look rare but I admire him for his creativity and how he started with drawings in school, then as a hobby and finally making an excellent show. He's one of my many heroes and also the rarest one, because he uses creativity and drawing skills. I hope Matt Groening continues making more Simpsons episodes.
