The Mod at Riverwalk

I had a terrible experience with the whole rental process... they were/are doing pre-lease to get people to sign up for the Mod 2 (their new apartments) before they officially start move-in on May 1st. Unfortunately, they've moved the move-in multiple times on me; and their application process was confusing. I am starting a job in late April and I am moving from the east coast to Reno for the first time, so the delay costs me a lot.

First time, they said it'll be a two week delay (may 15th). I am moving from the east coast to Reno to start a new job, so I booked a few airbnb (costing me well over $1600) and also a booked a storage unit ($125/month). Their response: Sorry; try temporary housing. (btw no one rents out 2 week housing unless you do airbnb). No compensation for the delay.

They moved it a second time (move in on June 1). They said it's a 99% chance that it will open June 1st. I am starting my new job in late April, so I am in absolute panic trying to find additional housing. Their response: sorry; try temporary housing. They offered 1 month of storage to be covered (this was not offered until I begged them to after the fact).

I asked them for a better discount, they would not agree to it. Ultimately, I ended up cancelling my application (which by the way had lots of problems on their website - it's not even formally submitted). They agreed to return my holding deposit of $200 (who knows when this will come back).

The place is nice and the location is great. But they give no consideration for their prospective tenants. I am not new to renting and I can say this was definitely my worst experience as a renter. The move-in date was important to me and they lied to me in order to get my business.

My stay at the Mod was amazing and did not realize how close and convenient it was to many places. Walking the riverwalk was a highlight but the assistance I received from the manager Madeline B. was a great help. She new the area so well and with the places she suggested was in walking distance made it so much more enjoyable.
The instructions for entry was made simpler and she responded very quickly too when I contacted Madeline B. for assistance and she gave me help when I wanted to have a package sent. Her knowledge of the area was of great assistance, we enjoyed our day trip to Truckee. The Mod is a gem lots of parking, great location, and Madeline B. Life is good at the Mod.

I currently live at the MOD Midtown and it is amazing! The apartments are all brand new and so lovely. I am close to so many good shops and restaurants. The MOD Life is an amazing experience and I love it here!

The neighborhood is amazing and the management is even more fantastic! The property manager cares about the residents and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy. I love the mod life in Reno!

The Mod is my favorite place to stay when visiting Reno. The location is perfectly located in downtown with so many different parts in walking distance, not to mention the best part of the river path is just outside the door. The building and management itself is excellent. The property manager Maddie is always incredibly helpful and always ensures our stay is at its best. She ensures the Mod is a safe and positive space to be in and I love it! Excited to get back, see you next time Maddie :)
