First time ordering and never again. Egg Rolls were fried in old dirty oil, could not even tell what was inside them other than very dark whatever. Orange chicken...all batter, tiny pieces of chicken. Suspect they buy frozen. Mongolian beef?? Where's the beef. Container was 3/4's full and mostly was bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Rice was so-so.
I am AMAZED at the 5 star reviews here, Rarely do I ever throw out food but was happily to toss this. Garbage smelled like old oil. On top of it all, they quoted me 36.00 and turned out to be 46.70 for this mess.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Disgusting to say the very least!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Peggy D.Boise, ID071Feb 24, 2017
Should have never went here. We order take out and they were pretty quick in getting us our order. The pork chow mein had hardly any pork. Just some shavings of meat. My boyfriend bit into a bone eating his sweet and sour pork. We both ate a fried shrimp but when we went to eat a second one we noticed that the shrimp was not deveined. It wasn't just one piece either. After that we stopped eating our food. Couldn't finish eating it thinking of how unsanitary it was.

We tried twice but no more. First time was a dine in and service was nonexistent and when they came around they were borderline rude. We thought we would try the take out and the experience was even worse. They messed up the order and when we called the guy was rude on the phone about the mistake. Not worth the effort to go to this place so never again

Very friendly and fast service. Lovely place! Love the art and the food. A ton of selection and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Customer service is eh. To go orders are bland. The guy on the phone is the most unprofessional person in Boise. He's completely annoyed with everyone, non helpful and rude. He seems to project his bad experiences on everyone else. Coming from the service industry, I understand a bad day and poor customer service; however, I don't understand continual disrespectful service.

Went here off of a friend's recommendation. So sorry we did. I actually went through the yelp reviews beforehand too!! It was so hit and miss that I decided to give their takeout a try. YUCK! Everything was greasy, had no flavor and was just basically the worst Chinese food I have ever had! Still trying to find a good Chinese place here in the treasure valley!

We are always searching for a great Chinese restaurant. This place was alright. Guess we've just never found one that hits us as fantastic. Does that exist?
My husband and I both had one of the specials with spicey green beans, fried rice and mandarin chicken. My daughter had one of the combinations off the menu. Like I said, it was just alright...not great, not horrible.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave E.Port Orchard, WA1454181252Aug 4, 2015
I had a hankering for Kung Pao while on business in Boise and happened across Confucius. I read a few of the bad reviews so wasn't sure what to suspect - lots of "one" and lots of "Five"... so what Yelper wouldn't just stop in to find his own truth - is it really a place of extremes? Or somewhere in between...
I was promptly seated, and having asked for a table near power to run my near-dead laptop, the host happily accommodated me right near the entrance, unplugging some lights so that I could do some work while eating. Nice touch! The interior is the very typical "Hey look! You're in a Chinese Restaurant" but that's OK - it was neat and tidy and seems very clean.
Service was swift and the waitress was very sweet. Since it's what I had in mind, I in fact ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with Pork Fried Rice lunch special for $6.95. It was at the table hot and fast - just a few minutes - 3 maybe?. Very good service.
And it was quite yummy! Very nice blend of veggies - carrots, water chestnuts, celery, mushrooms, and green onions, and of course peanuts - all in just the right proportions. Not too much or too little of anything. As with most Chinese food, the sauce makes or breaks the dish. Well, they have it nailed I gotta say!! Very smooth and delicate blending of flavors in a very light-oil sauce, wit just enough heat to satisfy most folks without blowing off your head. This was one of the best Kung Pao dishes I've had in some time. Certainly the best I've found in my many trips to Boise.
Lastly, the portion size was perfect! Most American-style Chinese places bring out a giant plate with a huge mound of food and 2 or 3 scoops of rice, even with the lunch special. My lunch today came on a 6" x 9" side plate - nice portion of the dish, and one scoop of rice. Since I travel for business I most often have to leave food behind - I appreciate not having to waste food, and the $6.95 price seems totally reasonable to me.
So here we are - another polarizing review I suppose, but a well-earned 5 stars from me.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Only thing good about it is that the people are nice. We ordered the broccoli beef (had to look for the beef amongst all the vegetables), sweet and sour chicken (nothing special and wasn't crispy), white rice (tastes like day old rice, wasn't fluffy at all), shechuan beef (took one bite and spit it out) chow mein (noodles were cruchy (that's when you could find noodles bc it was mostly bean sprouts)
