Very pricey in relation to other Thai restaurants in Paris, but portion control is excellent, and it's the 5th, so price is to be expected, namely around 40-50 euros for 3 courses and a drink.

Excellent Thai restaurant (I believe it was actually "Chieng Mai").

We walked by the restaurant and decided to wait until it opened because we just had a feeling...

It was the best Thai food we've ever had (compared to Thai food in New York and Los Angeles).

Every course was perfect. The drinks were delicious. We highly recommend the pork egg rolls, red curry with coconut milk, and the banana and tapioca dessert. Our kir and Salathai cocktail exceeded our expectations.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the whole staff was very friendly and welcoming. A terrific restaurant. A perfect lunch.

If you are all about finding cool little spots in glamorous big cities, that serve authentic food and that you can make your own own; Chieng-Mai is your place.

Located on a little side street in St Germain not far from Notre Dame, it has been in my Paris rotation for the last 6 or 7 years. One of the gages with neighborhood-y restaurants is how many locals are around. This place is usually crowded but not over the top crowded (as in, "What do you mean you didn't make a reservation 6 months ago? This is Paris!") You can go almost any night and get seated in a reasonable amount of time... and once you do, get ready for an outstanding meal of authentic Thai cuisine.

Everything I have ever ordered here is good especially the green curry with chicken and, whatever you do, don't over-look the fish cooked in banana leaves. I have never had that anywhere else and it is simply, memorable. Wash it all down with a little Singh-Ha Beer and you will walk out into the Paris night full and happy.

Though the food at this Thai restaurant was tasty and the service very attentive, we thought the dishes were overpriced, even in comparison to NYC. We ordered the Gambas (large tiger prawns) in a coconut curry sauce. Though the sauce was very tasty there were only 3 prawns with very little meat. This dish was over 18 euros a plate; a tiny amount of food for the price. Furthermore we had to pay 3.50 euros for each small bowl of white rice. In NYC you usually get plain white rice with your dish and do not have to pay extra. We also had a chicken with green curry sauce and bamboo shoots which while more plentiful, was still overpriced. After paying the bill of 49.90 euros with our credit card we found out later they had added on an inexplicable 7 euros to the bill that we did not sign for when we examined our credit card statement the next morning.
Surely this is not a good way to ensure that customers will ever return.

Very good ambience.... Friendly staff and good food. The location is off beat and in a quiet area, making dining a very private and enjoyable affair
