Abstract

How far did the glaciers reach? You would think that after about 150 years of ice age research, this question would be finally answered, but that is not the case. Was the Barents Sea glaciated? Yes, it was. And the Kara Sea? And what about the vast areas of Siberia? Ideas about where ice did and did not exist still differ widely. And if there were glaciers there, the next question is: when? During the maximum of the last cold stage, perhaps?
