File Description: This AI-Package contains several beautiful airplanes: Bell-UH1D, Hamburger
Flugzeugbau: C-160 Transall, Heinkel: He-111C, Lockheed: T-33A T-Bird,
Martin: B-26 Marauder, Nord Aviation: ND2501 Noratlas and last not least the
North American: Harvard Mk.41 T-6.
Most of these aircraft perform "Touch and Goes" in the local traffic pattern
at Landsberg-Airbase per attached flightplan and some C-160 Transall go IFR to
Hohn (ETNH, homebase of LTG63), Wunstorf (ETNW, homebase of LTG62), to Sarajewo
(LQSA) and Pristina (LYPR).
All the attached outstanding airplanes have been created by well known designers
(see briefing). My part was just to put them together and to generate an almost
reasonable AI-Flightplan.

File Description: This airfield located in the southwest of Munich has been closed down in the early
seventeenth. After World War II the airfield was operated by the US Air Force until
it was handed over to the German Air Force in 1957. The German Air Force stationed
"Transport Wing 61" there flying the French Noratlas (Nord N2501) until an aircraft
model change took place (Transall C-160) which was then the main reason for moving
to Landsberg (ETSA). In memory of spending some nice years in Neubiberg as a Radio
Operator and Navigator I decided to reanimate this airfield.

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Nord 2501 Noratlas by Projet Noratlas in the colors of N2501IS 4X-FAP, the first of the Noratlas aircraft used by the Israeli Air Force. In the immediate post-war era France produced a plethora of prototype aircraft, nearly all of which vanished without trace. One of those that made good was the Nord 2500, a cargo transport with the same twin-boom configuration as the American C-119, with the cockpit in the nose of a capacious nacelle. Like the US type, the rear doors were of the left/right clamshell type, so for air-dropping heavy loads they had to be removed before takeoff, causing turbulence and high drag. Despite this, the more powerful 2501 proved an excellent aircraft, produced in large numbers in France and Germany in a programme that led directly to the Transall, produced by the same partners, designed in 1959 and flown in 1962.
Israel bought eight N.2501 IS direct from Nord in 1955-59, a further 12 from Germany in 1962, and four more later. The first, 4X-FAP, was delivered before the end of 1955, and immediately proved extremely popular and capable.
Eight Nords had been purchased and these were used extensively to re-supply IDF columns in Sinai. To assist with these re-supply efforts other Nords were made available from the French Air Force and were requisitioned from Israeli Airline EL-AL which used them as freight transports. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Projet Noratlas.

File Description: Wunstorf Air Base was originally opened in 1936 for the National Socialist Luftwaffe. Like most German airfields it did arduous duty during the Second World War. When the allies finally concluded their occupation the field was eventually returned to German control and hosted it's first German transport unit flying the Nord Atlas. This aircraft was replaced in 1971 with the current Transall 160 aircraft. With the recent adoption of the Airbus A400M by the Luftwaffe, Wunstorf is undergoing some significant remodeling including lengthening of runway 8-26 as well as construction of two new modern hangars and associated support buildings. This scenery is intended to be used with the great Transall 160 package by Ray Parker (available at Avsim.net as (gaf_c-160_transall.zip) but will of course accomodate any aircraft and is in itself a complete scenery package.
