JMU Athletics’ Annual Small Business Game Changers Campaign to Accept Entries Beginning November 1

HARRISONBURG, Va. – JMU Athletics is bringing back its "Small Business Game Changers" campaign for a third consecutive year. Businesses within a two-hour drive of JMU's campus and comprised of 250 employees or less are eligible. Entry opens on November 1 and goes through January 29, 2024.  
 
JMU Athletics and returning campaign sponsor Appeal Productions will provide the winning small business with a valuable marketing package worth $30,000. The campaign is executed in collaboration with athletic multimedia rights holder JMU Sports Properties, the locally based team of LEARFIELD, the media and technology company powering college sports.

Beginning, November 1 businesses are encouraged to visit JMUSports.com/GameChanger for the rules and entry criteria for the possibility of winning brand exposure among JMU's passionate fanbase and campus community. This year's winning business will receive a professional video created by Appeal Production; in-venue digital signage during the 2024-25 football and basketball season; video board logo inclusion with PA announcement during the volleyball and lacrosse season; a print-at-home Men's basketball ticket advertisement, and more. 
 
"Small Business Game Changer is such an extraordinary initiative aimed at supporting the small businesses that truly make up the backbone of the JMU community," said Mike Chatburn, General Manager of JMU Sports Properties. "We appreciate the continued commitment of Appeal Production to making this opportunity possible for of those local community members." 
 
Submissions for the Small Business Game Changer campaign will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will select a winner based on creativity, originality, and values. A winner will be selected on or before February 15, 2024.
