Tvedestrand is a wonderful town by the sea in Aust-Agder county on the south coast of Norway. It is also a booktown, but unfortunately as we were there on a Sunday all the book shops were closed. It is a lovely town to take a stroll in and have ice cream by the harbour looking at the birdlife and the boats. With its white houses and narrow streets t is a prime example of what Norwegians would call “Sørlandsidyll” – south coast idyll. Picture no 3 in this series of the house “Strykejernet” – “The Iron”, considered to be the narrowest house i Norway (at least one of them).
