About Schlumbergera Truncata
Did you know plants in the Schlumbergera genus are actually leafless? Instead of leaves, they use modified stems to capture sunlight! Unlike the Easter cactus, this species flowers in the later autumn or winter. They also have pointed wings at the corners, where its counterpart has more rounded edges. In the wild, they are epiphytes, meaning they grow on tree branches or rocks! 🌳 🪨

Finding light for False Christmas Cactus in your home
Schlumbergera Truncata may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Schlumbergera Truncata in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Schlumbergera Truncata
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Schlumbergera Truncata after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Adopted this plant- Help My family has had this plant for a while now (not sure how long) and I've recently started taking care of it (a week ago) It looked really dry, and I just removed a few dry/dead branches from the pot. Most of the plant looks healthy, but I'm not sure if it is. Any experts out there please help. #FalseChristmasCactus

Something going on with false Christmas Cactus Hey guys, I've had my False Christmas Cactus for almost 3 years and only repotted him a little while after I first got him. He's flowered twice since I first got him in bloom, and seemed to be doing fine. I know he needs to be repotted as roots are starting to come from the drainage hole in his pot, but upon closer inspection I noticed something that looks like bite marks or maybe a disease or something on some of his leaves. Also, there are tiny round soil-like, or possibly castings in the saucer his pot sits on. What is going on? Should I be worried about this? I'm going to try repot soon and see more about what's going on with the soil, but any advice would be appreciated! #falsechristmascactus

My #FalseChristmasCactus bloomed again—I am sure it’s two plants sharing the pot (no buds when I got it in November, so I didn’t know until they started forming). This flower is white, with hot pink stamens (is that the right word? School was a very long time ago 😆) and a thin hot pink circle around the center of the flower. I think I love it even more than the first one! 😍💖🌸 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #SucculentLove #PlantTherapy #SucculentSquad #BloomingSuccs #CactusClique #CactusFlowers #GregGang #babevila

Just a quick update: Yesterday, I posted that my false Christmas cactus has bloomed for the first time since I got it in November. That’s exciting enough, but now, the flower has completely opened all the way up, and it’s just beautiful 😍 My mom has two of these plants, one is at least a decade old, and I’ve never seen the flowers open this far. I must be doing things right! 😇🌸🌵💖 #HappyPlants #FalseChristmasCactus #BloomingSuccs #NewGrowth #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #PlantAddict #PLANTMAFIA #babevila
