Henry Valentine Miller was born on December 26, 1891. He was a famous American artist and writer. He broke all existing literary forms and developed a completely new type of novel called a semi-autobiographical novel, that mingled character study, philosophical reflection, social criticism, stream of consciousness, sex, explicit language, mysticism, and surrealist free association.

Most of his early books were banned in the United States for being obscene but soon they became popular in Europe after they were first published in Paris. He was a very talented artist, he painted nearly thousands of watercolors paintings during his lifetime.

He once said that he has found God, but the God he found is insufficient. He said this in his famous novel “Tropic of Cancer”.
