I still have my DC and about 30 games if I recall. I bought it when the DC prices fell out to $99. However my VMU needs new batteries but it emulates well enough that I doubt I'll ever hook it back up. For some reason the fans are trying to push some new console called Spartan that Sega has no interest in which is odd.
No seaman? Some gamer you are lol. I still have mine too as well as the Saturn and n64. Got rid of all the others
I got two but on one the drive has failed on one and i al too scared to use the other in case it does the same thing, so i hope at some point Sega does the whole Mini Dreamcast thing, i would be all over that just for MSR.
I liked the Sega Saturn more. It had so many off the wall titles where they kind of tested the waters. Sonic had a 3D racing game instead of a normal platform. Nights into Dreams, Panzer Dragoon (I owned this the day it came out and sold it months later after beating it, wish I would have known how valuable it would have become lol) Grandia challenging Final Fantasy. And of course, NetLink. So ahead of it's time. Awesome pics. Enjoy some nostalgia!
^^Yeap, i will take a Satrun and a Dreamcast mini in a heartbeat, i don't use either anymore in case the CD drive goes, hell i pulled out the CD-I the other night to find my Burn cycle disc was suffering from CD rot.
reminded me of this blog http://jj1odm.sizious.com/ I used to follow, lots of interesting experiments with the dreamcast hardware including attempts to clone the BBA and an sd card mod. probably enough there to build high speed G2 bus adapter for loading games off an sd card , would be especially useful these days , now that the GD rom drives are gettting old and high capacity sd cards are available .
Not only that I just saw a mod using a CF card as well which does allow the keeping of the GDRom in tact in which you can rip your games to the CF card and back them up or play them from the CF card just like using a bigger HDD on a modded original Xbox. Now there is a HDMI box for the DC which makes recording game play footage a heck of alot easier.
I remember they were making Half Life for that and it got cancelled, Blue Shift was going to be a Dreamcast exclusive and ended up cancelled too. But was released to PC with the high def patch.
I remember there was a guy who was sellling a board that replaced the Dc cd rom drive totally and you could rip and run your games from the SD card in it, but he was making them by hand and you had to order them and he was like 6 month behind.....so i never got round to getting one.
