That just leaves Beta House needing a Blu-ray release.

Is this series the last modern link to 70s and 80s style sex comedies?

I was thinking about this myself as I watched the "Porky's" films while visiting my parents this last weekend (were a weird family :P). The last movie I could think of that would seem to fit the mold (and it's a stretch) would be 'Superbad' in my opinion. To be blunt, in today's climate I doubt 'American Pie' or (especially) 'Porky's' would never be green-lite today (especially as wide-release theatrical films).

With that said, I'm very glad that Universal continues to release the DTV 'American Pie' sequels. I always though they were more entertaining that your standard Universal DTV offerings, and it's been fun rewatching them as the blu-ray are released...

Huh, maybe since there's another spin-off coming out in 2020.

How is Porky's a sex comedy? I watched it several months ago and it came off like a drama-dey, not really a fun watch. The elements of abuse and racism just got in the way of the other things they were trying to do to give it an Animal House vibe.

I’m glad they’re releasing the Unrated version on Blu-ray, I never understood why they would release two versions of a DTV movie anyways.

Won’t lie, I find Jaclyn A Smith’s pale, realistic body superb in this.
Not enough to make me buy the movie but good for these movies for getting releases.

One of the better T&A comedies of the 2000s, but a burned disc? I'll pass.

Universal's MOD program is not burned. They release pressed discs.

Well, then say so, gentlemen. I thought manufactured on demand always involved burned discs—?

Well, then I'm in.

There was a time in the earlier 2000s when certain retail chains like Walmart, K-Mart or Target wouldn't carry unrated versions of films. I remember having to go to Best Buy to get American Pie 2 on DVD because it was the only store around me that sold the unrated version. I was also underage at the time, and Best Buy was the only store that didn't card me to buy 17+ movies or explicit music CDs.

I had always assumed this was the reason studios were releasing separate rated/unrated versions for a long time, even when the unrated DVD would sometimes include both cuts. The trend died out by the Blu-ray came along. If there's an unrated cut of a film now, it's usually on the same disc as the theatrical version.

No need to keep the DVD, as it seems all the extras are being ported over. Now the only thing left to know is whether or not the source is in good shape.
