Two new deities are joining Bryan Fuller’s American Gods adaptation. Crispin Glover has been cast as the series antagonist Mr. World, and Jonathan Tucker will play the tellingly named ex-con Low Key Lyesmith.

The upcoming Starz series is an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s 2001 novel of the same name. The story centers on a war between the Old Gods of mythology and religion, and the New Gods, which reflect America’s more materialist obsessions in the modern day.

Glover’s character of Mr. World is the mysterious leader of the New Gods. Tucker’s character of Low Key Lyesmith is a fellow inmate of the story’s protagonist Shadow Moon while he’s in prison, but it’s revealed that he plays a much larger role in the war than Shadow expects.

Glover and Tucker join the growing cast of the series. Ricky Whittle (The 100) is playing Shadow Moon, and Ian McShane will play the mysterious man who hires him as a bodyguard, Mr. Wednesday. Also cast, Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) as Shadow’s wife Laura Moon, and Sean Harris, Yetide Badaki, and Bruce Langley as three mystical characters.
