Description

63. FOUDRAS (Louis Auguste Théodore de Foudras, called Marquis de). Fables and Apologues, by M. Le Mis de Foudras. Paris, Amyot, 1840. Second edition, rarer than the first one, corrected, partly original because increased by a fifth book with 12 additional fables. The Marquis de Foudras is best known for his hunting novels, but these fables are his first work, here in a second expanded edition, published one year after the original of 1839. They are obviously animal fables that bring together wolves and foxes, ermines and badgers, thrushes and pheasants.
