In Lyon, for Jean Antoine Huguetan, 1602. In-8, [8] f., 832 p. (misquoted 432), [7] f. (tables, privileges), 17th century soft ivory vellum with covers, handwritten title at the head of the spine (flap of the upper board distorted, 3 laces missing, title page incomplete without affecting the text, light wetness at the end of the volume). First edition of the first French translation of the Lives of Diogenes Laerce. It is due to François de Fougerolles (ca. 1560-1626), ordinary physician to the king, also known for his translations of Porphyry and Jean Bodin. (Brunet II, 721).
