    Does The JobInstalled in a hurry when we needed more outlets in the data center. APC reputation, well built, basic functionality, re-settable circuit breaker, perfect for what I needed.5Great hardware, mediocre softwareThese latest generation APC PDU's work as expected; plug in, connect devices, manage from the network, etc. My big disappointment comes on the software side. We swapped out a bunch of AP7941 PDU's which are an older version of the exact same thing; 208v 0U rack PDU. The AP7941 is lacking the environmental sensor connector, IPv6 and a stable ssh interface (have to use telnet), but otherwise is nearly the same. The menu driven interface on the 7941 from software version 2.x is dramatically better than the cryptic command line system present in the 8941 on the 6.x software.For example, want to reboot a server on port 10? The 7941, telnet in, menu is presented, oh, press 1 for device manager, press 3 for device list, select your device (10), press 1 for off, 2 for on, 3 for reboot... 3, done. It's very easy even if you don't have the thing memorized. On the 8941, I'll give it credit that it's easier to reboot a server quickly, but you have to memorize all the commands and their syntax, which is only going to happen if you are using them constantly, which hopefully you aren't because your servers are stable and you never need to power cycle them. To reboot a server, you use the olReboot command and the port number. Want to see current status of ports? That's a different command you need to find, I think it's olStatus all. Setting values use different commands.Anyway, the hardware is high quality, they work for years and years without issue, just wish the software could have the old menu system reenabled.4The the PDU's come with a built in mounting 'hangar' for lack of a better word that lets you slide the hanger into a ...Simple to install in the back of a standard 40U rack. The the PDU's come with a built in mounting 'hangar' for lack of a better word that lets you slide the hanger into a hole that secures it.5Great quality and priceThe seller is very friendly, and the item quality is excellent.5Gets the job done, but no ammeter or network managementJust bought one of these and confused it with some of APC's other unmanaged "zero U" PDU's. Some of their other unmanaged products still include an LED panel where you can see the amperage being used and input voltage, you just can't remotely enable or disable outlets; this does not have any of that, it's basically just a power strip that locks into your APC rack with no frills.Keep in mind it is not a surge protector as the product name states; it does have two circuit breakers split between the two halves of the device, but those are strictly for over current conditions, has nothing to do with surge protection, so don't rely on it to protect your devices from anything like a power surge.The plug is the twist type L6-30P, so keep that in mind in case your power outlet or UPS does not have a matching connector.5Five StarsGood quality.5THIS IS NOT A 30A PDU!The unit is only a 24A PDU for North America. It only handles 30A in places like Japan. Totally deceitful on the sellers part. I didn't even notice until I actually tried to push more than 24A through it and it blew the built in breaker. 100% unsatisfied with the misleading product information by the SELLER and their refusal to accept a return.1Five StarsGreat pdu.5Five Starstop of the line, no problems5Everything fineThe PDU has always the same issue with the DHCP that is there from years... do not change the assigned address when the pdu has already one... it will crash the network module.5
