AiM SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 and SmartyCam HD Version 1 (Black Box Camera) replacement connection cable to connect to your Solo DL, MXS, MXG, MXP, MXL2, AiM Data Logger or SMC Bridge. This is a connection cable that has a 712 5 pin male connector on one end and another 712 5 pin male connector on the other end.

SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 to AiM Dash Connection Cable Details:

  • Manufacturer: AiM
  • Manufacturer part number: V02554820
  • Alternate part number: AIM-MC-267
  • SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 and HD to AiM Dash or Data Hubs
  • Included with all SmartyCam HD kits
  • Length: 4 Meters (12ft)
  • End 1: 5 Pin Male 712 Thread-On Connector
  • End 2: 5 Pin Male 712 Thread-On Connector

These CAN cables have male 5-pin 712 (screw-in) connectors at each end to connect the AiM SmartyCam GP HD 2.2, SmartyCam HD (version 1 black box looking camera) to your Solo DL. This cable also is used to connect your AiM SmartyCam HD (version 1) to your AiM logger or SMC Bridge.

Note: Not compatible with the original SmartyCam (gray unit with the viewing screen on top) or the later SmartyCam HD "Rev 2". The version 1 can be identified by a 7/8" diameter lens with either a 67 or 87 degree field of view, and a viewfinder flush with the front of the housing. Later SmartyCam HD Rev 2 had a larger 1 3/8" OD lens marked as 60 or 120 degree field of view and a cover over the front viewfinder held on by 8 screws. The original SmartyCam and SmartyCam HD Rev 2 require a CAN cable with a 7-pin connector.

Although the connectors are correct, this cable can NOT be used to connect the SmartyCam HD GP bullet camera to the base recording unit, the internal wiring is different.

How do I make sure I have an original SmartyCam H.D. Rev 1? First, your SmartyCam does not have any type of microphone. Second there is a 5 pin connection (for this control cable) and a 4 pin connection for GPS antenna. If you have a 4 pin and 7 pin, the you have a new Rev 2.
