Description

The Bel Air was the top spec Chevrolet from 1953-57, The lower spec was the 150 and mid was the 210. The Chevrolet got a new body in 1953, although still on the same frame and mechanicals as the 49-52 cars. It was also the 1st year for a one piece windscreen. The Bel Air got a wide chrome strip along the rear quarters, painted inside with Bel Air script. It also got more chrome inside and carpet. 1954 saw a mild grille and tail light facelift, indicators now oval. (round in 1953) Bodys; 4 door Sedan and Wagon, 2 door Coupe, Hardtop and Convertible. Chevrolets were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
