The Caveman Story (Part 1)

Part 1

My name is Han, and Foong is my partner in crime. We are mural artists. We provide mural services. We love to paint. 🙂

Straight out of college, we have always thought of what are our places in this world. Never imagine we would be starting a business one day. Not even a mural service business, no way.

One day Han (Caveman Two) came out with an idea; To paint a mural on the wall. Foong (Caveman One) thought he was joking at first and started to realise it wasn’t as bad as it seems.

We decide to test it out first.

Armed with a sharpie and a picture from the internet, we decided to draw on an artblock first. Better artblock instead of wall first before someone screws up. This is our product of 1 hour.

We realise we can actually do it! We became art geniuses overnight! It wasn’t difficult, it was actually quite enjoyable! None of us believe we could do, we never went to art school or had any education on art.

We then wanted to test our genius by stepping up to a bigger art. The next challenge was to draw on a mahjong paper. This was our product of 2 hours.

It is still hanging in my room as of today.

Foong and I realise that we had this potential to produce something much bigger and amazing. It was as if we were gifted to draw. We never knew we could draw anyway together!

Foong decided to test instead on a real wall. He approach the tuition centre upstairs and the landlady was more than delight to let him try. (Must been the cockroaches he help to catch all those years when he was working downstairs.)

(We later helped draw her tuition logo. Her tuition centre is situated in SS2 nearby the Mitsubishi showroom.)

Armed with mural paints and weapons, we took 4 hours and came out with this. Our first mural art.

We were so excited, we wanted to keep improving and draw more sophisticated murals!

The tuition lady allowed us to paint one more and even says that she would pay us for it. We were shocked. We worked closely with her and decided on a picture. We went a shopping spree to buy mural arms to eventually came up with this.

It was like those colouring books you get to buy from popular but this is on a wall! Mural to us was not that hard, it wasn’t hard at all! Nobody taught us how to paint, we just shared among ourselves and do it. We enjoyed every stroke, every detail and colours of it. We started to explore more and more techniques and implement them in our art. It took us 8 hours to complete the ocean world!

We collected our first check in a week and my god, the feeling was so good! We love our task so so much!
