Astrophytum asterias nudum (Astrophytum asterias var. nudum) is a cactus species that has its origins in parts of Texas and Mexico. Unlike normal Asterias this one does not have any white flecks covering it’s body.

It is a very fast growing and freely offsetting plant that brings out yellow flowers in summer time.
Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum (Bishop’s Cap) is a spineless cactus, often solitary, forming a spherical or shortly columnar, bright green, blue-green to gray-green stem. Usually adorned with prominent 5 ribs, it forms a perfect star shape giving the plant the appearance of a bishop’s miter, hence the common name.

Astrophytum Ornatum is a shortly columnar cactus appearing star-shaped from above, with white cross bands of woolly scales. It appears to be a very variable species especially for the density and distribution of white scales. It is the largest and easiest to grow and also the fastest of the Astrophytums. It is also generally more heavily spined than other Astrophytums.
