wow, that's spectacular. Not something I've seen before. Know next to nothing about Arthrocereus.

Looks exactly like my Arthrocereus rondonianus did (now deceased  ). I see your name is a synonym to Arthrocereus glaziovii. Are the two quite similar?

Well, here is a pic of the plant.
Image

Here on left is a small cutting off it, with A rondonianus (hasn't bloomed), They are different, tho I can't say whether different enough.

Image

I looked at NCL, and the two species don't seem very different to me, tho some are below
1. Rond - white to yellow to pale brown spines, and an "unscented " lilac flower. Pics on google show a very lilac flower, much more so than mine. Anthers are purple.

2. Campos - supposed to be white flower (mine is white, but some lilac tints, tho not nearly as lialac as those on the web), and scented (mine is). Spination cna be yellow to red brown . Anthers are white (mine are).

Ok, when I do an image search on google I only find my own pictures. :?

What do you think? My ID could be incorrect:

Thanks guys,

Daiv, wierd re google, perhaps Minnesota is too far away to get all the hits. I get bunches, try this
http://images.google.com/images?sourcei ... a=N&tab=wi

I have no idea which is right, or perhaps they both are right, or wrong. Sometimes they just don't match up with what is in the books - I don't know if the book is too limited (for example, one picture said rondonianus was scented) or the plants are hybrids or who knows what.

So I guess with time it'll take up lots of space, but the flowers look great! :D

Duh! #-o

I searched "acanthocereus rondonianus"

Anyway, what to do now? Just when you think you have a solid ID on a plant... :?
