This 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door sedan was refurbished during the 1990s and spent time in Tennessee before it was acquired by the selling dealer in April 2021. The car is finished in turquoise with a white roof over a green vinyl interior and is powered by a 235ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, dual side mirrors, vent windows, and a heater/defroster. This first-generation Bel Air is now offered by the selling dealer in Florida with manufacturer’s literature, a binder of refurbishment photos, and a clean Tennessee title.
The refurbishment included repair of the quarter panels and rocker panels in addition to a repaint in turquoise. The car features a white roof with matching quarter-panel spear trim moldings as well as chrome bumpers with overriders, dual chrome side mirrors, a hood ornament, and rear fender skirts.
Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear polished covers and are mounted with older 7.10-15 Firestone whitewall tires. The selling dealer states that the brake pedal assembly is loose and that the car pulls to the left under braking.
The cabin features two rows of bench seats upholstered in green vinyl with patterned cloth inserts along with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes vent windows, a heater/defroster, and a lockable glovebox. Delamination is visible on the edges of the glass.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a full chrome horn ring and frames a 110-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for engine temperature, battery charge, and oil pressure. The fuel-level gauge does not work, and the five-digit odometer shows 78k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 235ci inline-six is fed by a single carburetor and was factory rated at 115 horsepower. The car is equipped with a six-volt electrical system, and the selling dealer notes that the radiator has been re-cored.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible underneath, and additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.
