In the 1930’s Sciltian developed his typical style from his early works, influenced by Cubism, to an Old Master-like style with clear forms, realism and fine psychological nuances, which evokes a sense of alienation. This work combines the artist’s favorite subjects, such as still life, genre and hints of the pittura metafisica.
