Larry Cohen On Rick Baker’s ‘It’s Alive’ Baby Design!

With just a little more than a week to go before Scream Factory releases their highly anticipated It’s Alive Trilogy on Blu-ray, the beloved distribution label has decided to provide Bloody Disgusting readers with a little taste from the bonus features to whet your appetite and hold you over until May 15th.

In the following clip, director Larry Cohen and film historians talk about the wonderful creature design of the film’s terrifying baby created by the legendary Rick Baker. Albeit brief, the clip does give a fascinating insight into what exactly Cohen wanted with the baby and how he intended to use it!

“It was kind of a combination of the Star Child from 2001 and a wolf,” Cohen says in the clip.

He and Baker then put their twisted brains together and the end result was the ultimate reminder as to why kids just aren’t for me.

The 3-disc It’s Alive Trilogy features It’s Alive, It Lives Again and It’s Alive 3: Island of the Alive. All three films feature brand-new 2K transfers sourced from the original film elements. The set comes loaded with bonus features and hit shelves everywhere on May 15th courtesy of Scream Factory.
