Daniel Mahlberg

Daniel Mahlberg was the District 1 representative of the Elko County School District Board of Trustees in Nevada. He was first elected in the 2010 primary election, where he ran unopposed to take the seat. He was re-elected to a second term on the board in the June 10, 2014, primary election.
Biography
Mahlberg works for Barrick Gold Corporation, a company that operates gold and copper mines worldwide. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Previously, Mahlberg worked as a juvenile probation officer in Elko County and as a assistant director of warehousing and procurement for an office furniture sales and supply company. Mahlberg graduated from Elko High School, and he received a B.M. from Great Basin College and an MBA from Golden Gate University.[1][2]

Elko County underperformed compared to the rest of Nevada in terms of education achievement in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 15.8 percent of Elko County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 22.2 percent for Nevada as a whole. The median household income for Elko County was $70,411, compared to the state average of $54,083. The unemployment rate in the county was 7.8 percent while it was 14.2 percent statewide.[4]
