Daniel Mahlberg was the District 1 representative of the Elko County School District Board of Trustees in Nevada. He was first elected in the 2010 primary election, where he ran unopposed to take the seat. He was re-elected to a second term on the board in the June 10, 2014, primary election.

Mahlberg works for Barrick Gold Corporation, a company that operates gold and copper mines worldwide. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Previously, Mahlberg worked as a juvenile probation officer in Elko County and as a assistant director of warehousing and procurement for an office furniture sales and supply company. Mahlberg graduated from Elko High School, and he received a B.M. from Great Basin College and an MBA from Golden Gate University.[1][2]
