We have used, tested and beaten this jacket. This is a great all around rain, outdoor and durable work shell or jacket and has become our most popular for heavy use. The material is durable enough for a mid level jacket by itself depending on where you live. The pockets are great and very useful but our favorite feature is staying dry in any weather. I even went snowboarding while wearing it, then wore it into the woods. It's the original style military parka being used today so you get a great cost effective foul weather jacket in comparison to other, more expensive jackets. We also carry this jacket in solid colors.

Tru-Spec recently redesigned their foul weather gear to an improved 3-layer windproof, waterproof, breathable material. The ECWCS GEN 2 Parka for those that are not familiar with it, is a combination rain jacket and cold weather parka. Used as both, it is now the standard issue for the U.S. military in all branches and we sell them to teams everywhere. 

The Jacket features a cobra hood (which fits over a combat helmet) with woven nylon drawstring adjustable pulls and an attachment piece that allows fastening of a fur ruff. There is a two-way, full-front slide fastener to provide full-face protection, leaving only the eyes uncovered. This parka has a non-freezing, double-pull zipper with storm flap and seven snap closure, a flap-covered pocket on the left sleeve with hook and loop (Velcro) closure, adjustable hook and loop wrist cuffs, armpit ventilation zippers and double reinforced elbows. A badge/insignia tab with snap is located on the storm flap. There is an interior back ventilation opening, two slash (hand warmer) cargo pockets on the lower front and an inside draft skirt (wind skirt) with elastic draw cords and barrel-locks at the waist (without pulls). There are also two concealed map pockets at the front zipper with hook and loop closures that can be opened without unzipping the parka.

The secret is the high quality, environmentally safe Bemis seam tapes. Seam tape is the critical link in the chain of waterproof protection and Bemis is the recognized worldwide technology leader in providing thermoplastic films for a myriad of industrial applications.
