The most curated, hand-tested, English-friendly romset for the Sega CD unit
The Sega CD was infamous for hilariously tacky FMV games, but it also brought us incredible CD soundtracks, the Lunar series, and the only official English port of Snatcher! How could you be mad at that?
The chonky Sega CD unit was meant as an affordable bridge into the "next generation" of gaming, but the attachment was mainly just used to add CD-quality music and grainy, pixelated video to the otherwise unchanged Sega Genesis.

Download Instructions
Archive.org's torrent feature wasn't designed with large collections like this in mind, so I do not recommend using it - Downloads can fail or be incomplete. If you're wanting to help preserve this set, you can use the link below to download everything directly. That will make sure you get everything saved without trouble! Also, I highly recommend using a download manager such as the Link Grabber feature in JDownloader 2 to make sure you get the quickest and most reliable connections possible. Just copy this link and add it to the Grabber. That's it! It should autofill all the folders and files automatically for easy download:

Special items included:
Unreleased prototypes, games not in English (but only if they were easy enough to play without being fluent in another language), English-patched translations, plus these extras:
"The Colors of Modern Rock," "Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia," "My Paint," "Sega MultiMedia Studio Demo," and "What is X'Eye Multi Entertainment System?"
None of these extras are "games" in the typical sense - They contain multimedia programs and Saturn promotional videos that I believe are important to preserve. If you're only after the actual games in this set, feel free to delete those titles named above.
Items removed:
Non-working dumps, duplicates, demo discs of games that eventually saw a release, prototypes of games that eventually saw a release, versions not in English when English was available, Japanese and European versions of titles when a North American version was available, hacks, homebrew games, and titles not in English that require proficiency in another language to play - Those can be found in my "Sega CD Language Pack" here: archive.org/details/language-pack-sega-cd-champion-collection-updated. Sega CD 32X combo games have also been removed from this collection, but they can be found in my "Sega CD 32X Champion Collection" instead: archive.org/details/sega-cd-32x-champion-collection-updated-v2.
Release notes:
This is a complete re-work of my previous Sega CD set, which I did a few years back. It was sloppy as Hell and gave way to my most requested update. I've hand-tested every game again from scratch, added five more titles, upgraded several others to newer revisions, and organized the files much, much cleaner than last time.
The folders in this collection organize the games alphabetically, but I also created a "Multi Disc" folder to keep those titles apart from the single disc games. I strongly suggest storing this multi disc collection separately as I have, for ease of use. You'll want to import the m3u (playlist) files into your emulator rather than the individual .cue files for these, or they will not load / swap discs properly. Keeping them separate will make it much easier to import them in two different batches - the multi disc games (via .m3u) and single disc games (via .cue). Please note that not all emulators support .m3u playlist files for Sega CD. If yours doesn't, then import the .cue files from the multi disc games instead and use your emulators disc loading / swapping functions as normal whenever you have to switch them.
The game "Lords of Thunder" was originally shipped with an audio skipping problem in its code for one level, so the fixed version is included here.
The following games have been replaced with versions updated with "Un-Worked Design" patches: "Lunar: Eternal Blue," "Lunar: The Silver Star," "Popful Mail, and "Vay." Un-Worked Design patches take all the mostly despicable changes that the company Working Designs made in the NA region releases of JP games and revert them to the original Japanese values. Working Designs usually made games much harder to avoid store returns from gamers beating it too quick and to lengthen game rental terms. They also censored certain things for American audiences (such as nudity). These patches bring everything back to the original way they were meant to be seen and played, but they still contain the sometimes questionable translation efforts from the company.
