Erythranthe cuprea

Erythranthe cuprea (Dombrain) G.L. Nesom (syn.: Mimulus cupreus Dombrain) (Chile) – An exceptional and ephemeral escape from cultivation. Numerous plants were recorded in 2011 in Berchem (Antwerpen) on pavement in an urban area.

This single record probably is not referable to genuine Erythranthe cuprea (a species with uniformly copper-coloured corollas) but to one of its hybrids or cultivars, possibly Mimulus xburnetii S. Arn., its hybrid with E. guttata (see also Roberts 1968).
