Erique Martin Morales was born in December 24, 1971 in Htao Rey, Puerto Rico. Living with his mother Nereida Morales and his father Enrique Martin Negroni, he grew up with desires to be part of Menudo (a latin boy band).
At the age of 6, Ricky got his first taste of performing in grade school. He acted in the school's choir and appeared in many tv commercials.
After being taking singing lessons , at the age of 10 he discovered the music in Menudo where after 3 auditions got into. In 1984, he begun as one of the members recording and making tours all over the world for the next 5 years.
In 1989 he left the group and moved to New York where he stayed doing absolutely nothing.
In 1992, Ricky released his first album in his solo career. The album called "Ricky Martin" became one of the greatest lating recording album over ten years.

A year later he begun acting on natinal television and released his second album called "Me Amaras"which gave him once again succes in the latin charts.
Around 1993, Ricky got into the soap opera "General Hospital" which he left to get into a play in Broadway called "Les Miserables" where he got the role of Marlo.
In 1995, Martin released "A Medio Vivir" which contained a harder rock edge, flmenco and cumbia. It featured "Maria", a song that became No 1 in 28 countries and that brought Ricky success all around the world even in Non-Spanish speaking countries.
His fourth album released in 1998 ("Vuelve") also became an international hit, featuring "La Bomba" , Ricky sold over 7 million copies worldwide. "The Cup Of Life", featured in the same album went No 1 in 32 countries just because it was the official song for the
1998 World Cup.
A year later, the Puertorican superstar performed "The Cup Of Life" at the Grammys where he stole the show and won 1 grammy for "Best Latin Performer".
In 1999, Ricky released "Livin' La Vida Loca", a song that went No 1 all over the world and that sold over 15 million copies in the United States alone.
Now, the tireless latin superstar, Ricky Martin, is back with his new album, "Sound Loaded" , featuring songs such as "No Body Wants To Be Lonely", "Loaded", and "She Bangs" that promise to have the same succes as Livin' La Vida Loca.
