    10 August 2003 - Ben

This conversion from locomotive 33115 was used as a test vehicle for Eurostar bogies and current collection equipment. It was semi-permanently coupled to class 73 73205 (also visible in this picture.) It was unpowered, being used to collect juice from the 3rd rail which was then transferred to the 73 via heavy duty cabling to provide motive power. Its test train was formed of 977684-7, later supplemented by 977763/4.

Generally used on NSE south western division between London and Woking/Eastleigh but also spent time on the south eastern. It was brought as spare parts for 33111, cut at St Leonards June 1996.

Thanks to Simon Bendall for this info.

This was also fitted with TGV bogies - I wonder how fast, in theory, it could go!

Probably worth copying the info that was given under the other photo:
